October's Expert of the Month is Erik Ilyayev, M.D.

Erik Ilyayev, M.D., is a physician specializing in dementia and geriatric care and serves as the CEO of
MedBetter Health. His career has focused on bringing medical care directly to older adults and
homebound patients, beginning with his founding of a medical house-call practice after completing his residency at New York-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital. He has also served in hospice medical
leadership and held academic appointments in medical education.
Today, Dr. Ilyayev leads MedBetter Health’s work in dementia care, including its participation in Medicare’s GUIDE (Guiding an Improved Dementia Experience) Model, which focuses on improving care
and support for individuals living with dementia and their caregivers. He also serves as a board member of the South Florida Alzheimer’s Association and is actively involved in dementia education and
caregiver advocacy.
