Pediatrics Care
Pediatric Services: Well-baby and well-child visits, including BMI tracking, nutrition and activity counseling, and developmental screening; immunizations; lead levels and other diagnostic testing; dental, vision, and hearing screens; and parent education are provided directly. Children’s families may receive behavioral health service within the health center.
Adolescent Services: Physical exams, including BMI tracking and nutrition and activity counseling, vision and hearing screens, education regarding high-risk behavior issues (tobacco usage, sexually transmitted infections and pregnancy, substance abuse), and age appropriate immunizations and labs for adolescents are provided directly. Young people and their families may receive behavioral health services.
Adults (18 - 64): The FAU/NCHA CHC provides routine sick and health maintenance exams for adults, including vital signs and BMI tracking, directly. Screening/testing includes hearing and vision screens, age appropriate labs, HIV and STI testing, prostate and breast exams, and other cancer screens. The health center focuses on preventive care and chronic disease management. Immunizations are provided as indicated, as well as counseling/education regarding health issues such as weight management, nutrition and activity, tobacco use, HIV, STIs, and substance abuse. Behavioral health counseling is provided, often as part of primary health visits.
Geriatric Services: Routine adult services are provided directly as noted above. Services for seniors include immunizations as indicated, age appropriate labs, functional assessments, counseling/education that includes home safety and osteoporosis and nutritional assessments.
